WCM BLIFTED

WCM BLIFTED is the Community Outreach Arm of Wesleyan College of Manila.

  • Ensure a unified approach by designing a program that employees and students can converge in bringing their own skills and expertise aligned to the college thrust and objectives.
  • Propose and implement new and existing programs to barangay and other targeted beneficiary.
  • Utilize research extension that would improve the community’s wellbeing and improve the overall impact of the program.

Programs

WCM BLIFTED provides resources and services to its partner communities through the following programs:

An annual Christmas party held in the WCM for the children from ages 5-9 years old. Students and employees donate not only toys but their time with the children. This is held in during the second or third Saturday of December.

Started by WCM Faculty this is a book and school supplies drive to address the needs of nearby barangay day care centers and some provincial schools. In this program students are encourage to donate their old books and school supplies to the targeted community and schools and creation of mini library in their area.

A program by the college with the objective of teaching the word of the God to the community while promoting kindness, fostering friendship and opening communication to the different barangay.

An annual program of the school where the community are allowed to make use of the gymnasium to promote health and wellness in the community and build relationships with the other barangay.

 

Cocina de Alfonso is a shared community kitchen that aims to provide livelihood opportunities to residents of Barangay Sikat, Alfonso, Cavite. Participating community residents receive training in food preparation. In turn, WCM Blifted assists in transporting, marketing, and selling Cocina de Alfonso products.

Armed with their training and experience in Cocina de Alfonso, Barangay Sikat residents are also provided with entrepreneurial skills training, which would later open opportunities for community members to establish their own business. 

The WCM BLifted Literacy Program is spearheaded by the Basic Education Department. This extension program provides assistance and support to selected students of Barangay Sikat, Alfonso, Cavite. Aside from conducting online and face to face classes and consultations, WCM teachers shall also coordinate with the school of the participating students to ensure a more holistic approach in the students’ learning.

The BLifted Youth Formation program provides the children of Barangay Sikat, Alfonso, Cavite opportunities for spiritual growth. Through monthly meetings, this program serves as a safe venue for the youth of Barangay Sikat, Alfonso, Cavite to express themselves and to showcase their unique talents.
